Miliband visits Lahore Fort, Badshahi Mosque

LAHORE: British Foreign Secretary David Miliband visited the Badshahi Mosque and the Lahore Fort on Thursday. Miliband took keen interest in the historic archaeological sites of the city and admired their beauty and grandeur. He stressed the need to preserve the monumental sites as they provide a vital link between the past and the present. Archaeology Department Director General Javed Abbas briefed Miliband on the history of the Lahore Fort and the steps taken to preserve this unique archaeological site. Miliband was also briefed on the history of the Badshahi Mosque by an Auqaf Department representative, Shamasul Hassan. app
